I left Optimum Health Institute May 1, 2002 to further my learning and healing. During the early summer I will visit a number of National Parks. The first of these would be Joshua Tree National Park in the Southern California desert. I found the rock formations particularly interesting looking like a giant rock puzzle. Perfect joinery and absent of the contrived artist.
Several miles into the park I pulled over and took this with a map of the park.
No it's definitely not water. I set my camera on the hood of my car and caught the reflection.

My Joshua Tree camp site at the hottest time of the day somewhere between 1 pm and 3 pm.
Notice the tarp strung from the car to table and tree. Hot, Hot, Hot.....Little place to hide.

The heat being too much I decided to leave and head for the Grand Canyon in Arizona. But first I had to drive there. Since the spirit of adventure has not left me I decided to take a desert road. A two lane paved road going east from 29 Palms California to Parker Arizona on the Colorado River. The sign after the last traffic light in 29 Palms read, 'No services for the next 120 miles'. Onward to Prescott Arizona via Cal 62 to Parker Arizona, AZ 95, 72, 60, 71, 89. Already gassed up and plenty of drinking water I hit the gas. |
